Virginia Maria Romero (b. 1952 in Sheffield Lake, Ohio, USA) is an established American artist. Since the early 1980s, she has lived and worked in New Mexico, where she has developed a visual language shaped by Southwestern American culture and the historical santero tradition.
Through religious symbolism, motifs from nature, and influences from wildlife, folk art traditions, and devotional imagery, Romero creates vibrant and richly detailed works that combine traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary visual expression.
